Welcome! I’m Crystal!

I’m a born and raised Alaskan who is now off on an incredible adventure with God around the world to destinations unknown! I learned, after many years of frustration, how to love and appreciate all seasons that Alaska has to offer.

My favorite thing to do year-round is hike with other ladies and talk about what God is doing in each of our lives, sharing our lessons learned as well as our struggles, encouraging each other, speaking truth to each other, praying on the spot for each other.

This blog is my version of sharing those lessons with everyone I am not able to hike with. I love being open about my areas of struggle, growth, and victory, as that realness helps other people grow and also builds authentic and deep relationships.

I encountered Jesus at a point of complete brokenness in March of 2019, falling in love with Him and pursuing a deeper relationship these past years as He has not only saved me from eternal destruction, but completely changed me from the inside out in a most glorious way! I am now filled with life! and hope! and joy! and encouragement! instead of the bondage of bitterness, pessimism, un-forgiveness and blame.

I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the outdoors! Backpack camping, cabin camping, kayaking, cross-country skiing, skating, pretty much anything that gets me outside and moving my body. I am responsible to take great care of the body God gifted me with, fitness and eating vegan are important to me, as the way we move and eat affects every aspect of our lives! But I do also savor a comfy chair with my feet up and a good book, and if there’s a fire crackling in a stove nearby all the better!
